5 Things to Know About Dreamforce 2021

Dreamforce 2021 Things to Know

The first Dreamforce event took place in 2003. And it’s quickly grown to be one of the largest tech conferences in the world. Boasting an amazing agenda with an impressive speaker lineup, networking opportunities, famous musical entertainment, parties, and more, it’s really no wonder why the event attracted 170,000+ attendees each year.

Then, COVID happened, effectively shutting down the world. And Salesforce was under pressure to completely reimagine their marquee event — quickly.

The result? Dreamforce to You, which allowed people to access the great content Dreamforce is known for — from the comfort and safety of home.

This year, Dreamforce returns September 21-23 — and we couldn’t be more excited. If you’ve attended Dreamforce in the past, you’ll notice this year’s event is a bit different than previous years. But it’s bound to be a great time — whether you attend in-person or remotely.

Dreamforce 2021: a Global, Hybrid Event Focused on Safety

1. It’s Going to be a Hybrid Event

Dreamforce is returning to San Francisco, the hometown of Salesforce. This year, though, there will also be in-person events in cities around the world, including New York City, London and Paris.

Of course, events the size of pre-COVID Dreamforce still aren’t advisable as health and safety is still a top concern. As such, there will be far fewer in-person attendees than in the past. Per an article for the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Francisco event will have a capacity of 5,000. And in-person attendance at the other “global hubs” is expected to be even smaller.

Dreamforce will also offer plenty of innovative digital experiences, allowing attendees from anywhere in the world to access what’s sure to be amazing content.

2. You Can’t Register…Yet

Wondering how to sign up to be part of Dreamforce 2021? The short (and probably frustrating) answer is that you can’t yet.

Due to significantly reduced capacity, many are predicting in-person registration will be by invitation only. We do expect the online portion of Dreamforce to be available to a much wider audience. After all, according to the Dreamforce FAQ, there will be “…digital experiences available for everyone, from anywhere.”

3. An Amazing Agenda is in the Works

One of the big draws of Dreamforce is that it offers attendees — regardless of role — with amazing opportunities to hear from thought leaders…and even celebrities. The 2019 event included sessions led by President Barack Obama, Apple CEO Tim Cook, and of course, Salesforce’s own founder and CEO Marc Benioff — among many others.

This year’s agenda hasn’t been released yet, but we’re quite certain it won’t disappoint. We expect there will be sessions specific to roles, including Admin, Developer, Marketer, Commerce and Architect, as well as industry-specific sessions. Sessions are sure to hit on hot button topics like adapting to a cookieless world, social commerce and thriving in a post-COVID world.

4. There Will be Extra Health and Safety Measures in Place for In-Person Attendees

As much as we’d all like it to, COVID-19 hasn’t gone away. As such, health and safety will be a top priority for this year’s in-person Dreamforce events. Anyone attending the U.S. events will be required to be fully vaccinated against the virus. In addition, Salesforce is following all local COVID-19 public guidelines and working with medical leaders to ensure safety.

If you’re lucky enough to attend one of the in-person events, be sure to do your part by practicing health and safety measures we’re sure you’re well-accustomed to — such as frequent handwashing and using hand sanitizer when soap and water aren’t available. And of course, if you’re not feeling well, stay home!

5. 1440 is a Gold Sponsor at Dreamforce 2021
